The Musical Path: Songs for the American Road
American music followed the pathways of its peoples in songs from back home and songs about the journey itself. This recital by local Princeton musicians will draw
from the collections of John and Alan Lomax, two primary recorders of the American folk song tradition, as well as more recent folk singers. Journey Stories: A Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition is open to the public from November 18 – December 29 during the regular operating hours of the Princeton Public Library in Princeton , Illinois . Many local programs and films will be presented as part of the Journey Stories exhibition; a cooperation between Princeton Public Library, the Smithsonian Institution and the Illinois Humanities Council.
