The Iron Path: The Hidden History of the Railroads of Illinois

Railroad historian Dr. Simon Cordery, of Western Illinois University surveys the expansion of the railroad industry in the Land of Lincoln and how it fits into the pattern of national railroad development and the significance of railroads in 19th century politics. Sponsored by Friends in Council.  Journey Stories: A Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition is open to the public from November 18 – December 29 during the regular operating hours of the Princeton Public Library in Princeton, Illinois.   Many local programs and films will be presented as part of the Journey Stories exhibition; a cooperation between Princeton Public Library, the Smithsonian Institution and the Illinois Humanities Council.
