Postmark Princeton - Letters To and From a Hometown
Using period letters, this costumed reading will shed light on the experiences of early Princeton settlers, Civil War soldiers and nurses, early 20th century writer Carl Sandburg and his wife Lillian, an American missionary to Korea in the 1920s, young men in WWII, and the home front experience in Princeton. Journey Stories: A Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition is open to the public from November 18 – December 29 during the regular operating hours of the Princeton Public Library in Princeton , Illinois . Many local programs and films will be presented as part of the Journey Stories exhibition; a cooperation between Princeton Public Library, the Smithsonian Institution and the Illinois Humanities Council.
