Let’s travel to the grand city of Memphis. Memphis, Teneessee is recognized as the home of Elvis Presley and as the birthplace of the blues. Did you know that Elvis’ home, Graceland, is the second most visited house in the country- behind the White House in Washington, D.C.? But Graceland is only one of the many exciting sites and attractions that you will want to see during your visit to Memphis
Day #1 - Tuesday, April 27th - We will depart from Perry Plaza at 6 a.m. for Memphis, TN with break and meal stops along the way. At 4 p.m. we will arrive in Memphis at our hotel the Holiday Inn Select. Dinner tonight will be at Neely’s Bar-B-Que, one of Memphis’ most famous barbeque restaurants.
Day #2- Wednesday, April 28th- After breakfast at the hotel, we will meet our step-on guide for a city tour including Memphis’ historic downtown, the Mississippi riverfront, Cotton Row, St. Jude Pavilion and the March of Peabody Ducks. Following lunch, we will depart for a docent led tour of Gibson Guitar and a self-guided tour of the Rock & Soul Museum. We will enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and free time on Beale Street.
Day #3 - Thursday, April 29th - After breakfast at the hotel, we will travel to Graceland for the Platinum Tour. The tour includes Elvis’ home- Graceland, the Auto Museum, Elvis’ custom jets and the Sincerely Elvis Exhibit. Following lunch at the Chrome Grill Cafeteria, we will depart for the Pink Palace Museum, the 36,500 sq. ft. former home of Clarence Saunders, founder of the Piggly Wiggly supermarket chain. Later that afternoon we will make a stop at Sun Studios, the birthplace of Rock n’ Roll and where Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and many other famous performers recorded. Dinner and Entertainment this evening will be at the Center for Souther Folklore and Cafe.
Day #4 - Friday, April 30th- After breakfast at the hotel, we will check out and depart for home making meal and break stops along the way.
