A beautiful Austrian Christmas Tree and holiday music will welcome visitors. The Christkindl Markt offers unique handcrafted gifts, traditional German treats, and an international cookie bazaar featuring 36 varieties of cookies from 27 countries. Free children's activities include "The Gingerbread House," and crafting tile mosaics.
This year's market artisans include a chocolatier, a basket weaver, a creator of beautiful recycled picture frames, a ceramist, a photographer, and a quilter. As in previous years, the Princeton High School German Club will be selling traditional German Advent calendars. In addition to Fair Trade coffees and chocolates, market shoppers can also purchase exotic poinsettias and Christmas cactus as well as frozen homemade entrees (breakfast casseroles and lasagnas) to stock up on for the holidays.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, a German Brathaus lunch will be offered, featuring brats, franks, sauerkraut, pulled pork, and delicious homemade potato soup or chicken noodle soup. At the market entrance, coffee and hot mulled cider along with German stollen, lebkuchen, and pretzels will be available all day for hungry Main Street and Christmas Market shoppers.
