Enjoy the sounds of the 33rd Illinois Volunteer Regiment Band and Bob Welch "Songs of the Civil War" plus informative Living History exhibits and military encampments.Thrilling battle demonstrations allow you to relive history and gain new insight into the formative years of our nation. Shop for period clothing and accoutrements in the Sutlers tents. Stroll through the camps and talk to the re-enactors who welcome questions about their equipment and their interpretation of civil war events.Bright fall colors\, crisp fall weather\, the smell of wood smoke and campfire cooking add an enjoyable aura to the event.Lunch is available from modern food vendors and there's nothing like cool weather to whet your appetite.Handicap accessible portable restrooms are on site.2008 Program Events are being planned at this time - check back for updates! Visit authentic re-enactor camps\, merchants (sutlers) and living history demonstrations.9:30 AM - Nondenominational Church Service             12:00 PM - Grand Entrance of President Lincoln and Mrs. Lincoln (Max and Donna Daniels)               2:00 PM - Battle re-enactment followed by battalion review             3:00 PM - Park closes  SPECIAL EVENTS GRAND ENTRANCE PARADE - Sat. and SundayCheer the entrance of President and Mrs. Lincoln with  cavalry\, marching troops\, music and a beautiful horse-drawn carriage as the Lincolns make their way from the park entrance\, through the camps\, to the main shelter where the President addresses the awaiting crowd.  Max and Donna Daniels as President and Mrs. Lincoln bring one of our most beloved first couple to life. BATTLE DEMONSTRATIONS - Sat. and Sunday Union and Confederate troops meet on the field of battle as Infantry\, Cavalry\, and Artillery demonstrate tactical drills and battle formations of the period.DRESS BALL\, CONCERT\, NIGHT FIRING - Sat. eveningWatch a special cannon fireworks show then tour the arranged stops in the campgrounds for fascinating presentations about life in the 1860's.  Listen to the 33rd Illinois Band and watch the costume ball.CHURCH SERVICE - SundayA beautiful and inspiring nondenominational service that honors all soldiers and veterans.
