SUMMARY:Princeton Coffeehouse Presents ~ Jared Bartman
DESCRIPTION:Jared Bartman Opens Princeton Coffeehouse Season Aug. 27 \n\n\nBartman will be accompanied by a back-up band (bass\, drums\, backing vocalists and violins). A Princeton native\, Bartman is a songwriter\, composer and bandleader based in Peoria.\n\n\n\n Merging genres to create a unique sound\, Bartman combines indie\, American folk\, Eastern European\, and afro-Cuban music with classical arrangements\, occasionally returning to his rock and roll roots. \n\nBartman's live performances range from solo appearances to large ensemble shows featuring vocal harmonies\, string quartet\, bass\, and percussion accompaniment that recreate the vivid sonic pictures captured in his studio recordings. The indie music website\, Death and Taxes\, observed: "Bartman seems to find the delicate balance between experimentation and the inherent accessibility of pop\," \n\n\n\nSharing the stage with artists like John Vanderslice\, Richard Buckner\, Night Beds\, and Rodrigo Amarante has allowed Bartman to perform for audiences that value a richer\, raw sound driven by poetic lyricism. His full-length recording\, Misery Makes Strange Bedfellows\, was released in 2013.\n\n\n\n Fair trade coffee\, tea\, and homemade desserts are available. The Coffeehouse offers traditional and modern folk\, blues and bluegrass music\, monthly August-May.
