Familiar historical figures like Abraham Lincoln\, General Ulysses S. Grant\, and Elmer Ellsworth appear prominently in the story along with a group of young friends that includes real Bureau County residents from the period.\n\n\n\nHuelskamp conducted research at the Historical Society while writing the book and is excited to present his finished novel and share his knowledge at this event.
